This video is a tick that one of the RVT’s at College Manor Veterinary Hospital found climbing on her leg, after a walk through long grass at a local forest.
We can’t stress enough the importance of tick prevention, for our pets and ourselves. This tick is a female deer tick or black-legged tick, these ticks carry Lyme disease. We highly recommend when out and about this tick season that you keep yourselves covered (long pants) and check yourselves after every walk. No one wants to get sick while out enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
